Ryan Kennelly came onto the bench pressing scene out of nowhere, posting a bench press of 760 pounds at his first competition! It didn't take Ryan Kennelly long to be one of the first men to bench over 800 pounds. Since then, Ryan Kennelly has managed to break the 900 pound mark posting his personal best of 903 pounds.
Ryan's personal best bench press is the 3rd heaviest ever recorded. The only two guys ahead of him are the 1000 pound men Scott Mendelson and Gene Rychlak. Ryan Kennelly works out up to 5 days per week with 2 of these days being bench days - that's dedication to the bench! Ryan weighs in at about 290 pounds.
Ryan Kennelly is the tallest lifter on the professional bench press circuit at 6'2". When he posted an 800 pound bench, he blew the theory that tall guys can't compete in professional benching.
